ASUS Zenfone / Screen + Menu in CHINESE

Question

Hello,
I have a brand new ASUS smartphone set up in CHINESE and I don't understand anything at all; fearing I might make an irreversible move, I would need some help to access (in the CHINESE menu) "Settings" and then "Language & Keyboard" (as specified in the Manufacturer's manual) to set it permanently to FRENCH.
Please note that I do not see a gear icon, which is commonly used to indicate "Settings" on other phones.

Hello

There’s no need to read or understand a language, just rely on the icons.

The settings gear icon that you see when you pull down, like in the screenshot Vincent sent you.

Then you tap the icon with the alphabet and the letter "A" OR THE ICON REPRESENTING A PLANET, and then you tap the first line you see, and you should have the choice of languages........unless it's a Zenfone, which is intended only for China, then you will have Chinese, English, and maybe other languages, but I'm not sure at all...then Zenfone is a range and not a model like with Samsung's Galaxy range, so be specific.

In any case, for this model there is indeed a gear in the quick settings (launcher shortcuts).
