Hello.
I have an Asus PC running Windows 10 ver.1803. I also have a Terratec Grabby USB 2.0 cable.
At the end of last year, I transferred about ten recorded documentaries from my TV. It seemed so easy that I didn’t take notes on how I did it.
I probably forgot some things since then, because, 6 months later, I'd like to do the same thing, but it’s impossible!
It seems that Magix Video Easy Terratec starts normally.
I have the first window with the welcome message and - What would you like to do? I choose - Create a new movie project. I get a project name.
In the next window, - Import - from which source? I choose - Import videos from analog sources.
In the next image, - Connect the analog recording device to the computer.
I do that. The mouse pointer turns into an hourglass, then nothing happens.
I can't continue! Did I make a mistake somewhere, or did I forget to do something?
Or is it the 1803 update of Windows 10 that is causing problems? Please help me.

Hello, in light of the desperate messages following the use of these 4-pin USB keys, we warn internet users to only recommend the known and supported Dazzle box.
You managed to get it working, good. A Windows update can indeed cause issues, but there are no updates for this product.
Try reinstalling the CD that came with it.
P.S.: However, are you sure that your imported video is in analog 720x576 in mpeg2 format?

  Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, I do not understand everything you wrote to me. I don’t know what a Dazzle box is and I don’t understand the purpose of the carried video format, because the problem is that I can’t connect the PC to the TV. The video I want to transfer is probably in HD (National Geographic), great, but full of commercials.
  Before using the program, I put one of my old movies (AVI) in the DVD player and I manipulated it with the program without any problem. Another thing, I don’t have an installation disc. I was told when I bought it, at Media Markt, that the USB is automatically recognized by the program. So no possibility of reinstalling.
  Since I have a second PC with W7, I made an attempt, but the program is not recognized. Here it is, the loop is closed. If I made mistakes in French, forgive me, it’s not my native language.   Hello, we use these converters to transfer an analog signal from a VCR, camcorder, or AV output from a television such as SCART or composite (yellow RCA connector) or S-Video.
  I think we’ll need to invest in this kind of box; it comes with the appropriate software.

  Hello idiot.
  I probably expressed myself poorly or not enough. I have a TV with a decoder, connected to the cable with Telenet. To my knowledge, everything I record is irretrievable from the decoder except to replay, watch on the screen, and transfer to the PC via this Grabby cable. I don't have anything on VHS tape, so nothing to convert. For example, tomorrow, Saturday on TV5Monde there is a part of a program about Odysseus. I would like to save this program for my granddaughter. So, I have nothing to transform, just transfer from the decoder to the PC. I feel that my lack of success comes from an error I make in using the program. In any case, probably an installation CD will help solve my problem. After this explanation, do you think there is a solution? If not, I give up.

Hello, you clearly described your problem, and there's nothing to say about your method. Your video output is fine, either through SCART or composite (yellow RCA).
I look at the specifications, and it is already stated to be compatible with Windows 7 and 8, but there is no indication for 10.
Furthermore, it is stated: delivered with its Magixmowies software, and I find it hard to believe that it is included in the key without an installation disk.
Finally, for years on the forum, we've been warning about these cheap 4-wire keys whose system updates are non-existent.
I invite you to trust a reliable, well-known box, and I can provide you with a list of updates from over the years.

  Hello Glandu.
  If I understand correctly, the Dazzle box (Dazzle DVD Recorder HD) is supposed to replace the Grabby cable? And should the Magix software also be replaced by Pinnacle Studio, or can it still work with Dazzle?

  The Dazzle box is an analog video capture card that allows for digitization; it should only be used with the provided software "Pinnacle Studio," which enables editing (montage).
  "Magix" must be uninstalled.

  After a health issue, I'm back.
  As you advised me, I bought Dazzle with Pinnacle Studio (version 1.0 or 1.02). I also found some videos online in English and French. I think that for using the program, I won’t have any issues. To connect a PC to a TV, it's a different matter; on Windows 10, you need to perform a "screen transfer" by clicking on the notification icon at the bottom right: connect or project

  What does screen mirroring mean and how is it done? The PC screen and the TV are duplicated and I regularly watch YouTube videos on the TV or is this not related to what you are indicating?
  By clicking on the notification icon, there is a table with 13 options but I don't see screen mirroring.

  Hello, you have a 'project' button and a 'connect' button for the web; it's the same action, which is the act of switching from your PC display to your TV screen. Depending on your goal, you need to go to your library and choose the video you want to watch on your TV and open it with your usual viewer.

  Non, dude, that's not right. To solve what I want to do, it's not the PC that I want to see but the TV. The Project button allows you to see on one or the other or on both screens what’s happening on the PC. For me, both screens are always duplicated and it's on the TV that I choose which screen I watch the PC program on. But it's the opposite that I want. Hello, with "connect" you need a compatible TV. Personally, I cannot control the content of my hard drive from the TV remote; however, to watch the TV program, I have a provider and a decoder. My TV is not connected; I can only describe what I know.
To return to your original question, if you have an analog video output (out) plus audio or a SCART output on your TV, you can connect your Dazzle box to transfer the TV program.

  So you advised me to replace the Grabby system, which doesn't work in my case, with a Dazzle system that doesn't work either. Cost of the operation, ± 80 €.

  Hello, for the intended use, namely converting an analog signal into a digital one, you haven't shown me a failure. This device is recommended by default by many contributors on CCM, and I have one myself that has worked well for years through Windows 7, then 8, and now 10. It still works very well, while those 4-pin USB sticks are subject to numerous desperate messages from users. You are making a bad case against it.
  If my advice is not enough, you have the option to ask a written or telephone question to Dazzle's technical support site, which you couldn't do with Grabby.
  I spent time on your issue, and I commit to offering you alternative equipment, and I regret that you hold this against me.
