Show the navigation bar in VLC

Hello,
How can we display the progress bar in VLC when in fullscreen mode (without having to switch back to windowed mode)?

I'm using the latest version of VLC

Configuration: Windows Vista Firefox 2.0.0.6

    preferences
    in interface settings check "show controller in fullscreen mode"

    I find it annoying, so I unchecked it.

    I downloaded VLC with ADSL TV and I have the progress bar.

    It's a common bug. You need to re-download VLC for the default settings to come back...

    start menu/all programs/VideoLan/quicksettings/Set main interface to Qt (default).
    And everything goes back to normal.

    Is it at least possible?
    Or if not, which media player do you recommend? (on Vista)

    otherwise I found GOM player, I quite like it!
