Thunderbird Trash Stuck!!!

Hello,

I have a big problem with the trash bin in my Thunderbird email client... I can send deleted messages to it (sometimes with difficulty), but I can't retrieve a message or even open one. In fact, I can scroll through the messages in the trash, but I can't select any or sort the list chronologically or by sender, etc...

I think it might be because it's too full, but how can I get out of this since I can't declutter it by selecting messages to delete permanently. (I don't want to empty the trash completely).

Do you have a solution to propose to unblock the situation?

    try right-clicking on the recycle bin -> Properties -> Repair the folder

      Thank you for the advice but, in the meantime, I managed to unblock the situation. I admit I don't really know how!!!! In any case, I'll keep this proposed solution just in case.....

    Hello,
    Go offline by file/offline/work offline (it's not essential, but it doesn't hurt) and compact the folders by file/compact the folders. Do not use Thunderbird until the compacting is complete; you can track progress in the status bar at the bottom of the screen.

    If you are in IMAP, do a big clean-up in your mailbox (on your Orange account, La Poste, and others: directly on the site, not on TDB)
