Hello to the entire ccm community, I need your help.
I just acquired a new Trust brand mic on a stand for my favorite game, Counter Strike Source. All happy, I first tested it on Windows Live Messenger (formerly MSN) and everything works perfectly. But it gets complicated when I want to test it on Counter Strike Source; I clicked on the "test microphone" icon but nothing happens. The bar stays "off" and I really don’t know what to do... Thank you for your help.

Two months after your question, here’s a possible answer, knowing that I had exactly the same problem as you:
Response from Steam Support to whom I submitted the question:

In summary, you need to modify the config.cfg file of Counter-Strike Source and change the values of the command lines as indicated.
I think the main command in particular is: voice_forcemicrecord 0
Initially, this command line was at "1," and I switched it to "0" as indicated.
Then I modified the line voice_scale "0.75"
At first, I was at "1.00000," then I changed it to "0.75." Make this adjustment even though I don’t think this line has much influence.
That’s all for me, and now my microphone works.
For good measure, check the other command lines as recommended by Steam, and it should be fine.
If after these changes it still doesn’t work, well, I don’t know :)

Hello, I just bought a brand new headset with a microphone. It works with MSN, Skype, Voice Spunt, etc... but when I go on CZ it doesn't work anymore. I try to test the microphone and the bar goes up, but when I go on a server and press K, there's a small icon on the right that tells me I'm speaking, but nobody can hear me. If someone could help me... Thank you.
I'm the same except that it's about CSS and for me it mostly happens on French servers like Anthologyteam. With the others, I see their icon in the bottom right but I can't hear them, and when I talk, they can't hear me either, while they can hear each other perfectly. But on servers other than French, I can hear everyone and they can hear me... I don't understand anything.
Hi .. I had the same problem .. for me when I was playing CS: S, my mic on TS literally bugged!
For me, I first launched TS then connected to a server and it worked afterwards!

Good evening, I have a problem with my microphone
it works very well on MSN but on CS 1.6 it doesn't work anymore. The icon is present but the pseudonym bar on the right doesn't stay fixed, it keeps blinking. What should I do please?

I have another problem, my mic works perfectly everywhere even on CSS because when I do the tests on CSS, everything is fine, but when I launch the game and press the key to talk, the orange icon does not appear, so I can't talk. Does anyone know why this is happening?
PS: I tried changing the key but it doesn't change anything... =)

Hello everyone, I play online on dod source (day of defeat) and for the past 2 days I've been having a very annoying issue.
Let me explain the problem:
On my team's server, when I want to talk, no one hears me and I can't hear the others either. However, they can hear each other perfectly, and sometimes it starts working again when I switch teams, for example, if I'm in Allies, I have this problem, but when I switch to Axis it works fine. But on any other server, people can hear me and I can hear them too, there's no issue whether I'm in Axis or Allies.
So I'm a bit lost here... is it a problem that comes from me or the server?
I want to clarify that I've spent the last 2 days trying to figure out the issue, in the game options everything is set correctly, so the problem doesn't come from there.
Has anyone else ever had this problem? Thank you for your responses, you are my last hope for finding a solution :)
