Hello,
We are two users of the EBP gescom pro software, installed on an external hard drive (Dlink) and shared. One workstation connects directly from Windows, the other from a Windows virtual machine on Mac after installing Pervasive SQL. The software has worked without issues for several years.
Today, when we connect from either workstation and try to create an invoice or a delivery note, for example, the operation fails with the following messages:
A database error has occurred
Code: 2
Operation: insert
The application has encountered an input/output error
This error corresponds either to a damaged file or a network issue
Followed by a series of recommendations suggesting either Scandisk or the ENetText.exe utility
To our knowledge, we have not made any recent updates on our respective workstations and have not made any changes to the network. Everything else, including the shared files on the same external drive, works perfectly. No other network issues are noted, except for some intermittent Internet disconnections.
Does anyone have an idea of the nature of the problem?
Thank you in advance for your help.

I/O errors are rarely software errors, but rather machine-related...
Check the health of your external hard drive....
Generally, we do not work on an external drive because of the temporary files created by the machines accessing it... In case of a connection drop, there can be data losses.
I'm not sure, but I believe there is a possibility of restoring the SQL database.. I hope OmegaSoft will have more information on this subject... -
I just want to clarify that this issue only occurs when we try to invoice. We can edit delivery notes, but not invoices (whether from a delivery note or directly as an invoice).
Thank you!-
Possible.. The database is made up of multiple files that interconnect with each other. If one of them had a problem during a recording, then part of the software may stop functioning correctly..
It seems to me that in EBP there are tools to restore the database.. The software tries to repair itself by using the other remaining healthy files...
Check in the maintenance tools if there’s anything there....
