Hello,
After a Windows update I initiated during the night, I find myself at startup with an error message saying that the desktop location cannot be found on the computer.
I am left with a black background and no icons except for the recycle bin and a taskbar that doesn’t work.
I can only open the task manager.
No processes.
I tried to restore my computer using the cmd, but no backups are present.
Do you know how to restore my desktop?

Hello,
I managed to bring back the taskbar and the desktop icons by opening the task manager and running a new task "explorer.exe"
However, when I try to open a PDF from the desktop, it says that the system cannot access the file
Moreover, when I click on the file explorer (on the taskbar), an error message appears saying "attempt to reference a token that does not exist"
So it's impossible for me to carry out the first two solutions proposed in the link you sent me because I can't open the explorer and also I can't copy files or create a new user.
As for the restoration, I don't have a backup... -

I just prepared the key by watching a video from your site and plugged it into my computer.
I log into my session, but before I get to my "desktop," it gets stuck on "welcome," and there's a logo indicating that the computer is loading... and nothing happens.
I tried pressing the F10 - F12 - escape buttons etc. to make sure the computer boots from the key, but it didn't help; it seems to have booted normally but just gets stuck before reaching my session.
I'm on an Asus VivoBook S.
