Epub format not working

Hello,

I did everything that was explained above to put a bunch of books (purchased by my mother) from Google Play onto the e-reader (which was gifted to her). However, many of them do not work... I would like to clarify that it's a Kobo Aura e-reader.

I download them in EPUB format, or at least that's what it says when I download from Google Play Books. But once downloaded, it's not the right format.

With Adobe Digital Editions, I can convert them so that I can read them on my PC, but it's impossible to put them on the e-reader. I receive the following message: "you do not have permission to copy the following book." But I don't want to copy it!!! I just want to put a book that we purchased onto another platform: an e-reader...

The strangest thing is that some are indeed downloaded in EPUB and can be put on the e-reader, but only 1 in 5 of them...

Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be or could possibly help me, please?

Configuration: Windows / Opera Next 52.0.2871.64

    Hello,

Is this the procedure you followed https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/179863?hl=fr? There might be DRM on the books you download from Google Play. It's good to convert them via Adobe Digital Editions, but I think for it to work you also need to follow this procedure https://help.kobo.com/hc/en-us and authorize your Kobo in Adobe. That way you will have the right to copy the book.

You can also download DRM-free ePubs, some online bookstores offer them, and transfer them via Calibre, the library management software. But it’s true that there are few available.

Why not directly enter your Kobo credentials "Settings, Accounts, Kobo" into the eReader and thus access the online bookstore directly? Of course, just like Google Play, you need to enter a payment method.
