Origin indicates that I’m offline

Good evening,
So here is my problem (before starting I’d like to point out that my Sims 3 were purchased and not cracked).
I’d like to play The Sims 3, so for that I put the Sims CD in the drive, as agreed I need to install Origin no problem, ONLY! When I want to create an Origin account it tells me that I’m offline.
I have absolutely tried everything: disconnecting, uninstalling, I even created an account via https://www.origin.com/fra/fr-fr/, the account was indeed created but when I go back to log in to be able to install The Sims 3, I enter the username and the password but it still says I’m offline.
I’m sincerely sorry if the topic has already been addressed and resolved but I still don’t understand,
and now that we’re in 2018 and The Sims 4 has come out, it might seem odd that I’m still playing The Sims 3 in 2018 but I personally prefer The Sims 3.
