Hello,

I have a recently purchased Asus laptop running Windows 10. For the first time, I tried to plug in a headset (jack), but it doesn't detect it. I have tried various troubleshooting steps mentioned on this site, but nothing works. Also, I can't find Realtek on my computer.
Thank you in advance for your help!

    Hello,

Try installing the Realtek High Definition Audio Manager R2.81 → here

After a restart, plug your headphones into the green jack

The device installs, the Audio Manager opens.

    See you later

To keep on hand, for example on a USB stick before the upcoming version of a new driver
Additionally, there is a major update (upgrade) twice a year with Windows 10, so it's possible that the Realtek High Definition Audio driver is no longer present. Why? Probably because Microsoft installs its generic drivers during the update.
