Picasa on new PC

Hello, Picasa is installed correctly, thank you very much, but now I need to recover my photos and I don't know how to do that
Since I have a laptop that is still working, maybe I can connect the two together to transfer them; I admit I'm a bit lost.

I may not have followed everything correctly.

I understood that Sylviecats57 was changing computers and wanted to install Picasa on the new one and recover her albums.

If there is no change of computer, there are probably no problems.

But if it is about an installation on a new computer, I do not see how one can recover the albums.
Photos will have to be present first; and then the albums will need to be reconstructed or the data transferred from the old computer to the new one.
That’s why it seemed simpler to me to transfer them online to find the albums in Google Photos.

Now, I am not a specialist, and maybe a lot of things are escaping me...

To recover the photos, it’s very simple, just copy the folder containing them onto a good USB stick of a few GB that you will plug into the new computer because in principle everyone backs up their personal documents or photos before the PC crashes, right??
Personally, I trust an external hard drive or a good USB stick more than an external garage, but oh well.....

Right-click on the photo you want to view and choose "Open with"
Scroll all the way down the list and select "Choose another app".
In the new window, scroll down to the bottom of the list and choose "More apps"
Once again, scroll down to the bottom of the list to find "Look for another app on this PC". Before clicking, check the box "Always use this app to open ...."

The Windows Explorer window opens.
Select on the left C: > Program Files (x86)
In the list on the right, click on the Google folder and then on the Picasa 3 folder
Select the executable that suits you: either Picasa3.exe or PicasaPhotoViewer.exe

Picasa3.exe launches Picasa, while PicasaPhotoViewer.exe only allows viewing the photo.
