Hello everyone,
I can't delete my "contacts"..... I haven't put anything in my address book.... anyway everything is remembered..... And I don't like that.....
If I've written to a Gmail address 1 or 2 times; Hangouts will always suggest it when I type 1, 2, or 3 letters while sending a message to someone....
I also have this problem on Gmail, I type 1 letter in the destination address field and Gmail suggests all the people who have that letter at the beginning of their email address even if I've exchanged 2 or 3 emails with those people....
The worst part is this:
If you go to the Google account where you change your profile photo: all the photos exchanged on Hangouts are offered even though I've deleted the chat threads on Hangouts and even on devices used (computer, smartphone, tablets)
What I've already done:
- Clear the browser history obviously
- I've cleared the activity of my Gmail accounts (I have 3)
- Google Contacts is completely empty. Nothing Nada Nothing!
If I hide it on the computer or Android it's the same..... If I block it too

For Hangouts, I'm getting close to the goal!
On Android, I regularly perform internal memory optimization.
I noticed that the number of contacts was decreasing.
Resetting Hangouts to factory settings would remove the contacts where I had only exchanged messages via Hangouts if no message had been exchanged for a long time.
Over time, they disappear, from factory setting to factory setting ^^
(On iOS, it didn't change anything => the listing was different for the same Hangouts account)
So, I uninstalled the Hangouts app on iOS => the list became the same as on Android.
I went on the browser (desktop version), and the listing had decreased in the same way.
I've been looking for a solution to this problem for a long time... I still have 5 contacts that I want to make disappear.
Conclusion:
Wait +++ and never send a message
iOS => uninstall/reinstall
Android => return to factory settings
Browser => once all Hangouts applications linked to the Gmail account are "cleaned", the browser will display the same thing.-

I partially managed to solve my problem ^^
Hangouts no longer suggests the contacts I've communicated with via email using my Gmail address.
For Gmail, it is completely resolved. Gmail now only suggests the contacts I've chosen to keep (on the app or a browser).
Here's what it does:
It's good to do this, but you also need to clear this:
Google Dashboard, which is much better hidden.

Hello everyone,
I took the strong approach and I set up the permanent closure of a Gmail account.
When I get the confirmation of the permanent deletion => I will sign up again with exactly the same Gmail address hoping that it works.

Unless I'm mistaken, you can't delete Hangout contacts. You can only block them.
