HP Pavilion DV6, black screen issue

Hello everyone,

So here it is, I am reaching out to the community for my problem regarding my HP Pavilion Dv6-2114sf (Windows 7) which is not recent but was working perfectly until today.

Indeed, I tried to turn on my laptop as usual, but after pressing the power button, the fan started, but the screen remains black and the LED indicators for sound and Wi-Fi stay orange (whereas they normally turn blue afterwards).
I also noticed that the "Shift" and "Num Lock" keys do not work when I press them. Same for the "touchpad" which remains stuck as you can see in the first image.
When I plug in a mouse, it is not recognized either.

Finally, among the three diodes that indicate AC power, PC operation (ON) and hard drive, the diode indicating hard drive operation does not work, it remains off. I don't hear the hard drive. (second image)

I have therefore tested some tricks:
- Discharge the power from the PC by holding down the power button for 15 seconds, then replacing the battery and turning it back on: that does nothing

- Connect an HDMI cable to another screen to see if the screen would show up: that doesn’t work either.

- I also cleaned the computer where I could

- I removed the battery and the RAM sticks: that doesn’t change anything either.

Thank you for any help you can provide regarding this problem.
Could it be the motherboard?

Thank you very much.

Remove the stick from below, put the memory stick back in slot 1, which is the one on top, and turn it back on. You'll see it will work!!

    Hello,
Given the symptoms, it is 95% certain that it comes from the graphics card, and a faulty graphics card means the motherboard needs to be replaced, so it might be better to buy a new PC. If you don't have any display on another screen, that's worrying, but it's better to try connecting a screen via a VGA cable.
If the "Shift" and "Num Lock" keys are lit within the first 15 seconds of booting, it means the graphics card is faulty.

      Hello Inzes,

Thank you very much for your response.

Is there any way to recover the graphics card (by putting it in the oven)?
The "Shift" and "Num Lock" keys don't light up at all, even when I press them.

It's still strange, I shut down my computer normally that evening and the next morning I have this problem.

Go check near your place if there are computer stores so they can tell you what they think about it, but I don't recommend putting it in the oven as it could make things worse even though it might also solve them but only for a certain time.
