Hello,

Hello,
I cannot open an eGo IOMEGA external hard drive. The power LED blinks correctly
Model 31823400 RPHD-UG.
The connection cable to the computer has two USB connectors that I connect either to a Windows 7 PC, a Windows 10 PC, or an iMac. No success: the folders do not display,
This hard drive is normally used on Windows 7.
To eject the hard drive, I have to wait a very long time (about 20 minutes) and sometimes the hard drive never ejects.
I also cannot reset it
It should be noted that since its purchase, this hard drive has never worked well. I always had to redo the actions to retrieve a file.

Do you think I can recover the files or at least reset the hard drive and use it normally again?
Thank you and have a great end of the week.

    Hello,
Check the USB cable of your hard drive, if your cable is good it could either be the enclosure or the hard drive, I think it's more likely the enclosure containing the hard drive or at least its internal connection that has a problem, but to be sure you need to take the hard drive out of the enclosure and test it by connecting it to a PC, if it's the enclosure you just need to buy a new one.

But I don't see how to remove the hard drive from the case.
There are no screws and forcing the case doesn't free anything.
Is there anything else to do?
      Thank you for your help.
