Hello,
I need to format a small magazine. The first page is supposed to consist exclusively of text boxes or automatic shapes. Having completed it, I would like to move on to the second page, which doesn't exist yet. How can I create it without the boxes and shapes moving from the first page to the second?
Here’s what I did, with no success:
1) Right-click on the edge of a box, then "Format Text Box"
2) Text Wrapping
3) Advanced
4) Horizontal > Absolute Position (I don’t know what to choose on the right) - if there were a little illustration, it would be clearer.
5) Vertical > same (on the right I chose "page")
6) Unchecked "Move with text"
7) Checked "Anchor" or not: the result is the same.
Nothing works: After clicking in the margin to exit the text boxes and find myself on the page, whether I try to make a page break or press "Enter" to move the cursor down, the boxes at the top of the page stay in place, while those at the bottom move down and end up on the second page that appears... I've checked in the options described above, there are no differences; the checked or unchecked boxes are the same for the areas that stay in place and those that move.
Where is the error in this system as complex as it is esoteric?
Thank you in advance,

Hello,
There’s nothing esoteric about it when you use the right features. Text wrapping is designed to position an object in relation to text that is normally entered. That’s the purpose of text wrapping: it wraps an object. However, for a page that consists solely of objects (images, shapes, text boxes, etc.), we can no longer talk about wrapping.
As for anchoring: it allows you to attach a shape to a paragraph of text. If there’s no text on the page, all objects will anchor to the first paragraph, the only one available. Checking the "Anchor" option (and I agree it's not very explanatory) locks the anchoring. This means that you won’t be able to move the anchor with the mouse and therefore all objects will always be anchored to this paragraph (even if you move them).
So, in your case, it is obviously useless.
Well, I come to the simple solution which is to use a drawing area. A drawing area doesn't need to be wrapped, so it is positioned like a character. Then, inside a drawing area, you can do whatever you want with your objects: you can place all sorts of objects, move them around, etc. It doesn’t affect the rest of the document.

Thank you, I tried to work with a drawing area. The problem remains the same: the text continues below the drawing area. The struggle goes on.

Me neither. Too bad, I'm trying to solve the problem another way.
