Hello,

A error message appears after starting WINDOWS 10. Here it is:

failed to create child process: bin/ui32.exe (Windows error "the specified file could not be found," code 2, Dir relative to: C:\program files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\wallpaper_engine)

What should I do?

Thanks in advance for your responses.

Forget the Bringdownie site because it’s a copy or kind of clone. The year 2013 is equally surprising. If a Moderator could provide some clarifications, that would be helpful to illuminate us; otherwise we’ll stop thinking about it. I still thank the Moderator who gave me the info, because I had noticed and reported it, and it seems recent.

For your problem I can try to give some clues.

Knowing that you have Steam you can uninstall it with Revo.

After a restart run a disk cleanup.

In Cortana type → Disk Cleanup. Make sure to check the temporary files box.

    Restart again and reinstall Steam.

The error might come from using another Antivirus and the file being in quarantine.

    The path might be corrupted:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\wallpaper_engine

Or you did a cleanup with something like CCleaner, Glary, or Malwarebytes.

Anyway, quite a few possibilities among others...

Actually, the computer just came back from MSI repair (DVD/CD drive missing, and after I used the PC again it went to sleep and a striped screen appeared). Before sending it for repair, I had removed the various programs I had installed, including STEAM. Apparently there must be some files and/or programs left, but I can't find them.

In Revo you have a box you type → STEAM (in lowercase)

Also check if you see the Steam program in:
      C: \ Program Files (x86) \ Steam
      C: \ Program \ Steam

If you see them, do not delete anything from these directories.

The STEAM program is not in the list of programs to uninstall. However, I do have the STEAM folder in PROGRAM FILES (x86)!!!
