Panasonic Pure Direct 4K Mode

Hello,
I have a Panasonic TX-40DX600E 4K TV and a PS4 Pro. I wanted to know how to activate the pure direct 4K mode in the options settings. It's grayed out, so I can't access it. Is it because of the HDMI cable that comes with the PS4 Pro? Do I need a higher quality HDMI cable?

    HDMI (x3) • Mixed YUV+Composite

    At least one HDMI 2.0 input compatible with CEC: Viera Link (one remote control for multiple devices)
    At least one HDMI input compatible with HDCP 2.2 (copy protection).
    HDMI inputs compatible with 24 Hz.
    At least one HDMI input compatible with ARC (Audio Return Channel).
    At least one HDMI input compatible with 4K.

    Make sure the HDMI cable is connected to the correct HDMI port on the TV.

      I just checked my TV at the HDMI ports and I have the following: HDMI1 HDCP 2.2, HDMI2 HDCP 2.2 (ARC), and HDMI3.

      Try them all starting with HDMI3.
      I guess you'll need to restart the console and set your TV to the right HDMI source each time.

      As I mentioned, I have the PS4 Pro, but I have Sony's virtual reality headset, the PSVR, so I need two HDMI cables: one between the TV and the PSVR processor, and another between the processor and the PS4. So, I just put one cable between the TV and the PS4, and it's all good :)

    To activate direct 4K mode, the 4K source must be at 24p; the PS4 is at 60p, and I have the same issue with the Xbox One S. You need to enable 24p mode to use pure direct 4K mode on my Panasonic 4K TV.

    the source (ps4) must output 4k to have the option visible.

      From my PS4 Pro, I can enable 4K resolution, but not from the TV as I explained. So if I change the HDMI cable to a 4K HDMI cable, will that enable true direct 4K?

      You need to put in a 4K Blu-ray or a 4K game.
