Network Controller - Code 28

Hello,

I desperately need help, since the latest Windows update, my computer no longer receives any Wi-Fi. I can use the internet by creating a network bridge through my laptop which works. So it works via Ethernet.

But nothing for the Wi-Fi card, I've tried another one and still the same problem, the famous Code 28 (as seen in the image)
I uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers but it doesn't change anything, and I can't find any solution despite all my attempts, help!

    Hello,

    Download and install --> 7Zip 64 bits

    Download this driver --> Broadcom
    and place it in your documents.

    Right-click on --> Broadcom_BCM43xx_7.35.317.3.zip
    Select --> 7Zip
    Choose --> extract to "Broadcom_BCM43xx_7.35.317.3\"

    Go to the device manager.
    Right-click on the device in question
    Update driver
    Browse my computer ......
    Choose from a list of drivers...
    Provided disk
    Browse
    Go to your documents
    Go to the unzipped driver folder --> Broadcom_BCM43xx_7.35.317.3
    Folder --> 64
    Select the file --> bcmwl63.inf
    Restart.

    Best regards glg29

      Hello kaneagle,
      I was going to suggest manual installation from the driver mentioned in the third response; it's a network card added to the PC, you surprise me a bit with Broadcom actually!
      But you must have your reasons that I wouldn't dare to question!
      Regards to you as well.

        I also tried this manipulation with the Driver for Win10 in the folder UT_PCE_AC68_v2143 ;)
        The same message appears, with the infamous Code 10!

      Hello Kaneagle and thank you for your response!
      I followed your procedure (which I had already seen on other similar forums ;) ) and still nothing. The utility tells me "Windows has found drivers for your device, but encountered an error trying to install them
      This device cannot start (Code 10)"

    Once the code 28 is resolved, a new problem follows...

      Meaning of code 10, no driver installed.
      Have you tried manually installing this driver?

        Yes, and the utility tells me that Windows has determined that the best driver for this device is installed. Even after uninstalling and reinstalling the driver. :(

    Does the identification number correspond to this?

      Yes, that's correct, the number is PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_43A0&SUBSYS_85DF1043&REV_03

        Manual installation shouldn't give you any feedback, in principle!
        Note regarding your response n°8.

        Alright, what I did was:
        - Update the driver
        - Search through my computer for the driver software
        Then I selected the corresponding folder.
        Is this what you meant by manual driver installation?

    Right-click on the device
    Uninstall (including all drivers)

    Click on --> Action
    Scan for hardware changes.

      When I did this for the first time, it brought me to a Network Controller error (code 28) resolved earlier by Glg29 (thank you again!)

      I just did it, by deleting all the drivers. Code 28 reappeared for a few seconds only to disappear, but code 10 returned on the Broadcom 802.11ac in the Network Adapter tab!

    The problematic peripheral has changed its name after this manipulation and has become "Broadcom 802.11ac ..."
    But its hardware ID number is the same.

    Try installing it manually again.

    @AcidTWD
    Manual installation from the unzipped driver UT_PCE_AC68_2143

    Restart.
    You can always try if the suggestion made by kaneagle gets stuck!

      Thanks for the tutorial!

      I tried this method with both of your drivers, still nothing. When I restart, I always get the Code 10!

      I appreciate your patience, by the way! :)

        Sorry, but I don’t have many ideas left to suggest, kaneagle might possibly see something we forgot!
        We both have patience, but he is more skilled and his experience is undeniable.
        It's a card added to the PC, if I'm not mistaken!
        Have you tried uninstalling it, removing the drivers related to that card, restarting the PC without the card, shutting it down, and then starting everything again?
        It's just a suggestion, but you never know!

        Solving the problem is one thing, but I would especially like to understand it. And with all the solutions you proposed, I can see more clearly already!

        No, I haven't tried to be that radical, but I will give it a try!

    Go to Device Manager
    Right-click on --> Broadcom 802.11....
    Uninstall (including all drivers)

    Windows key + R
    Type --> control panel and OK

    Programs and Features
    Uninstall --> Broadcom 802.11.... and UT_PCE_AC68_2143, if present
    Restart the pc.

    Try the Broadcom driver manually again.

      Hello, thank you for your response.

      PC that I built, with Windows 10 64bit.
      The rest of the configuration is:
      Asus 970 Pro Gaming Aura
      AMD FX-9590
      GeForce GTX 960
      The network card: Asus PCE - AC68
      Windows is installed on SSD (HyperX Savage) and the rest on a regular HDD.

      I reformatted my PC, but the problem remained!

        Go to this LINK, apply what is suggested on the network controller line, copy and paste the equipment identification number in the next response.
        Number similar to PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_002B&SUBSYS_666111AD&REV_01\001517FFFF24141200
        Have you tried installing this driver, UT_PCE_AC68_2143.zip?

      Yes, and I also tried with the previous version (2115) to see if it changed anything. It brings me to another problem, Code 10 (I will attach an image).
