PC won’t turn on after charging with too high amperage.

Hello,

I made a (huge) mistake....
I wanted to charge my laptop. Since we use a universal charger (where you have to change the amperage according to the device you want to charge), I didn't notice and forgot to adjust the amperage.... now, my laptop won't turn on!
Is it repairable? Or should it be thrown away?...

    Hello...

    It's not the amperage that can be modified, but the voltage (tension in volts)... if you have connected it to the maximum (I suppose 24 volts) of the charger, with the laptop being at 19 or 20 volts, it shouldn't burn it out... however, if the polarity was reversed, then it likely has blown at least one fuse, or at worst, the power module...
    In any case, whether your charger can deliver 5, 10, or 15 amps, there is no risk!

      And do you think it can be repaired? No way to turn it on anymore.....

    Well... you first have to open the machine to see what it says: burned or black circuit board... but if you're not knowledgeable about it, I doubt you'll get any results... a visit to a shop seems quite inevitable, at least to get a quote....

    PS: I don't see why that would be the case, BUT have you checked that the charger works on another device, or by testing the secondary?
