I bought a second-hand Palm Tungsten E2 yesterday.
Today, after "playing around," I locked it. It refuses to open unless I unlock it with a password that I don't have.
Is there some sort of reset for the Palm that would be possible? Even if it means losing the few data I've inputted since yesterday?

To unlock a Palm, you need to perform a hard reset and not a soft reset.
The soft reset simply involves pressing the small hole at the back of the Palm with a needle.
The hard reset is done by pressing the hole and simultaneously pressing the power button. Then release the needle and finally the power button.
If the action is synchronized correctly, the Palm will turn back on and offer the choice of language.
Be cautious, as this type of reset erases all stored programs and data (a sync is advisable if you
want to recover your data).
A Palm is completely independent of its PC operating system.
I use mine with both WinX and Linux (Ubuntu).
I hope this information is helpful to you.-

Thank you for your explanation of hard and soft reset. I don't need it, but as I browse the forum, I can imagine the struggles of some to access these manipulations.
Thanks for them and your dedication! It is pleasing for a seventy-year-old Alsatian to see that there are still people who have a sense of help and a certain selfless humanism.

Bonsoir, tu peux faire un hard reset pour effacer toutes les données. J'ai le même problème aussi, et j'ai un problème de synchronisation entre le PC et le Palm. Bon, essaye le hard reset, ça doit t'aider.

Response 1:
Yes, I reset it with the reset button at the back.
The downside is that it doesn't give me the option for the language....
I was able to use it for a little day, but after trying to explore it, it got stuck.
The problem is that I bought this device on eBay, I just reported the issue this morning to my seller, but I'm not sure if the machine belonged to him.....
Anyway, since you know the device, can you tell me if a Tungsten E2 is programmed for Windows OR Mac? Because, in fact, I would like to be able, once my menu problem is resolved, to use it on both Mac and PC (I have both at home because of my work).
Thank you for your response,

Hello, I'm trying to apply the unlocking method on my Palm T5. It got locked after an update T5 V1.1 found on the Palm Europe website.
For now, I'm unable to unlock my T5. Can someone help me?
Thanks. -
I am a beginner with this type of device
I found a used one for 50 Euros.
1 Is that expensive
2 Can we view video with it
3 Are memory extensions affordable or not
4 Is it more powerful than a Sony Clie 675C or not because I found a used Sony for the same price and it seems more ergonomic to me -
Good evening everyone
Tonight my Tungsten E2 got stuck at startup. It shows me the message:
DataMgr.c, Line:7564
Invalid uniqueID passed
I have a button on the screen telling me "Reset" but every time I reset, the same message comes back. If I do a soft reset, the identical message appears as well.
So if you have a solution, that would be nice.
Thank you, have a good evening

Hello
my Palm Tungsten 2 is stuck and I don't know what to do
I forgot the password and when I turn it on it tells me password
is there anything to do? -
You need to hard reset your Palm. I've done this before, but I don’t remember exactly how. It seems that you need to press and hold the Power button, then press the Reset button on the back of the Palm. Keep the Power button pressed throughout the reboot phase. At the end of the sequence, it should prompt you to perform a hard reset. Then it will indicate the steps to take to execute the hard reset. However, depending on what you already have on the Palm, the formatting could take a while. Don’t worry, just let it do its thing. Good luck!

I have the same Palm, have you tried pressing the reset button on the back (very small button)
In fact, the previous owner of the Palm put a code to prevent everyone from playing with it (I think) you can ask him...

I have already done the hard reset several times and I never have the option to choose the language at startup....
