Does Antivirus effect the installations of Microsoft/Products

I have a Macbook Pro, And i have installed Microsoft Office, and after verifying my product key from office site i was redirected to Office my accounts Page and started the download automatically but soon after the file starts running. It comes up with an error. I have installed an Antivirus previously on My Mac. Is that Antivirus messing with my computer.
