Hello,
Since yesterday and for an unknown reason, I can no longer send messages from my account on Thunderbird - However, I can receive them - My ISP is Free - Here is the message I receive when attempting to send:
An error occurred while sending the email: the mail server sent an incorrect greeting message: 5.7.1 <unknown[2a01:cb15:8208:9400:951c:7a5f:5ea6:e29e]:52169>: Client host rejected: Access denied.
Who can help me? I don’t understand anything, I’m lost -
Server name: imap.free.fr Port 143 default 143
connection security: none
Password transmission: unencrypted
Thank you for your help, I am part of an association and my messaging is important for communicating with all the members.

Hello,
I don't quite understand your problem in the sense that to use an email client (not webmail), you need to use two protocols:
- The mail retrieval protocol:
Two choices: The POP protocol, which downloads the data from the server and "syncs" it in a way.
The IMAP protocol, which works by making a copy of the emails present on the server.
- The mail sending protocol: Here, I won't go into too much detail, but let's say that Free offers an SMTP server.
To properly configure an email client, you need both an incoming and an outgoing protocol for it to work perfectly.
Also, as a small detail, try to connect on a secure port (SSL) to protect your data.

The problem is often located between the keyboard and the chair.
