Hello,
After my PC performed an update, the Touch Pad of my Lenovo BC590 stopped working, so I went to the Device Manager to see if it was possibly a driver issue, but the pointing device had completely disappeared! Originally, it was a Synaptics product... I came to terms with it and restarted the PC... and then horror, blue screen Windows 10 "Your PC has encountered a problem, we're attempting automatic repair." The file that is being pointed out as the culprit is "ETD.sys," which seems to be related to the touch pad driver. I researched on the web and attempted to follow the steps described in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ff5xzKFZWMY
This did not work, ETD.sys is still the issue and I can't even access safe mode anymore... :s .
I'm stuck, which is why I'm asking for advice on how to resolve the problem. The laptop in question is used very little; it is only used to program a bunch of Motorola radios with some old software and applications that are pretty much unobtainable today, which is why I care about it quite a bit.
Thank you in advance for your help :) !
Configuration: Windows 10 Home / Firefox 55.0

Hi,
Start with the advanced system recovery options using method 1 from this page: Windows Advanced Recovery Options.
The idea is to restart to the page where it asks for the password, with the icon at the bottom right, while holding down the shift key.
If you do NOT reach the window where Windows asks for passwords, due to a blockage or crash beforehand...
Turn off the computer twice during the Windows loading.
It will enter repair mode, which will also give access to the advanced system recovery options.
(If starting on the advanced recovery options is impossible, you need to create a USB drive to boot from; you have a link on the previous page for that).
From Troubleshoot, you can then attempt:
- to run a system restore to revert to a previous configuration of Windows
- From the settings menu, restart Windows and go into safe mode, from there you can uninstall a problem application like your antivirus
- Reset Windows 10 (this keeps your data but removes the applications).
