Send messages without being friends on Snapchat

Hello,
Here is my problem:
I added a friend on Snapchat, I sent him a message but since he hasn't accepted the request, it says it will be sent when he accepts. So far so good, but I don't understand why a blue arrow with "delivered" appeared; I'm wondering why there have been no notifications and in the chat, it still says that he needs to add me as a friend to receive my messages. So I'm asking for your help if you know. Thanks in advance

Hi Alex, everything's fine, don't worry. As a former Snap administrator, I can tell you that he hasn't seen it even though it says <remis>. As long as he hasn't accepted you, he can't read it. Unless he first went to chat, opened it, and swiped up before adding you (maybe if he knows what he's doing). Hoping I was able to help you.

It's just that the contact details are public, so you can contact the person without being friends with them.

But still, did the person read it?? And can they reply back? Even without being friends?
