Someone recently removed me from their friends list on Facebook, so we are no longer friends. Why does he still appear in my Messenger contacts and I can see him online in the chats too?

    Hello,

    Since Messenger now keeps "regular" contacts visible in Messenger, even if you are no longer friends on Facebook. Just like there may be contacts that you don't have as friends on Facebook at all.

      Indeed, I talked to people who are not my friends on FB and now Messenger shows the green dot, meaning they are connected for some people only.

      So how does Messenger manage the display of the green dot for people I've chatted with who are not friends on FB?

      Do you see what I mean?

        These are Facebook's algorithms, no more info on that. The principle of Messenger is to open up to uses outside of Facebook and especially without Facebook, as it also seeks to replace other messaging apps...
