Rip a DVD of a series to AVI

Hello,

I bought the DVDs of the Game of Thrones series seasons 1 to 6 and I want to make a backup on hard drive in AVI format.
The problem is that each DVD contains 2 episodes, and I would like to have them separated and in uncompressed .AVI.
Is it possible, and if so, how? I have tried some software such as DVD Shrink or DVD Ripper Platinum among others, but it doesn't work, or I missed a setting!

Configuration: Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit, MSI Z77A-G45 motherboard, Intel Core I5 processor, GT640 video card, and 8 GB of RAM.

    What is Soft Pepper? Also, I have access to the DVD, my problem is finding where the 2nd episode is hidden on the DVDs?

    OK, I finally figured it out; it was just a setting.
    Let me explain:
    Free DVD Ripper software. When you load the DVD, it defaults to English for all titles.
    When you switch to French, only Title 1 (or the one selected) is in French, all the others stay in English.
    So, you just need to select Title 1, set it to French without subtitles, rip it, and then select Title 2, set it to French without subtitles, and rip it. This way, you have both episodes separated and in French.
    Of course, you need to set the copy format beforehand; in my case, it's "Uncompress, Original; Audio: PCM" [AVI].
    Pretty simple, but it took me 3 days to figure that out. - (

    Hello,

    Since PCM is uncompressed audio, it takes up a lot of space in a video file.
    I would suggest you reconvert your episodes by either doing it in AVI (video codec DivX or XviD and audio codec MP3), or opting for MP4 (video in H264/AVC and audio in AAC).

    After that, you can do as you wish because the choice is yours... ;)

    Yeah, indeed, as I was doing it, 10 episodes = 500GB so not really feasible since we have 6 seasons + 1 upcoming...
    I had to resort to compressing:
    Video: MPEG4, 2500kbps, original; Audio: Mp3, 256kbps. So it's about 1GB per episode. The quality is good despite everything.

      In general, a bitrate of around 1000 Kbps with audio at 128 Kbps gives files of about 350 MB for episodes of around 40/45 minutes.

      The higher you increase these values, the larger the files become, but for Game of Thrones it might be worth it... After the DVD video, it's SD and not HD...
      Look at the original bitrate on the DVD video (it averages between 4500 and 7000/8000 Kbps), that will be the reference value that it doesn't make sense to exceed.

      Personally, I record HD TNT and convert it to MP4.
      For series, I do it in SD with a video bitrate of 2000 Kbps and I find that it's way too much, and for HD movies, I set it to about 4000 Kbps because TNT (roof antenna) sometimes exceeds this rate a bit but it doesn't seem to go over 4500 Kbps.
