Hello,

This is the second computer I have with Windows 10 (the other one was stolen a few months ago). On my new computer, I still have Windows 10, but there seems to have been some changes. I can no longer find the French (Canada) keyboard. It appears to have been replaced by the “French Canada (legacy)” (FCH) keyboard. I have chosen this option because I definitely do not want to use the “Standard multilingual Canadian” (CMS) keyboard. The problem is that the FCH and CMS are identical in Windows 10. The keyboard I want (and use on my other computers) looks like this: http://www.bing.com/...
But when I select the “French Canada (legacy)” keyboard in Windows 10, I am offered a keyboard identical to the “Standard multilingual Canadian” (with keys for the accented letters É, Ç, and À, and none for the French quotation marks, which I have to make using shortcuts ALT 0171 and ALT 0187). To help you understand, here is a video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UTKQb-rOtSU&feature=youtu.be&t=10s

All this is hindering my work, as I am unable to type quickly with the “Standard multilingual Canadian” keyboard. Does anyone have a solution?

Configuration: Windows / Edge 14.14393

I just found the solution thanks to an employee at the store where I bought my computer. He had already encountered the same problem as me. For his part, the lousy Microsoft technical support employee couldn't do anything. He didn't even seem interested!

At first, I thought that the "French Canadian (legacy)" keyboard had replaced the "French (Canada)" keyboard, but it was just added to Windows 10. The problem is that in the list where you can add a language (in the settings), there are first the French keyboards from France, Belgium, Switzerland, and the "French Canadian (legacy)", followed by the Standard Multilingual Canadian. However, if you go even further down the list, you will find the famous "French (Canada)" keyboard. In short, problem SOLVED!

Previously, there were two QWERTY French keyboard options for Canada, and now there are three.

- You need to go to "Change language and keyboard settings."
- Then in the "Language" menu, under "Add a language," add "French (Canada)," if it hasn't been done already.
- Still in "Add a language," click on "French (Canada)," then on the "Options" button.
- Under "Options," in "Keyboards," "Add a keyboard," then choose French (Canada) QWERTY (further down the list).
- Then remove the other keyboard from the pre-existing selection, like French - Canada (legacy).
- Restart the computer.
It worked for me.
