Hello
There are two methods:
The first is to see what you can remove with Garmin Express. But let me tell you already, you won't recover much.
The second is to "open the device's memory directly via a PC, but I strongly advise against it if you don't know what you're doing. You could end up with serious problems later.
In 85% of cases, the issues arise because your GPS is already older and the maps are becoming more and more precise and therefore larger.
What to do?
Depending on the model, it may sometimes be possible to add an SD card and install it on the memory card instead of the GPS. That might slow it down a bit as well.
If that's not possible, you only have three options left:
1) stop updating, the GPS will still work but not all information will always be accurate. That said, most of the time it doesn't interfere at all with its use.
2) via the Garmin website and Garmin Express, download only part of the maps instead of the original geographic coverage. For example, you had Europe, and you can update only the Central Europe part.
3) Via Garmin and Basecamp, prepare the part you will need and load only that part onto the device or the memory card, but you need to learn how to use Basecamp (which is free)
Best regards

Thanks Massimo, it's great. Even a useless person like me understood it and it worked! I'm getting back to training starting tomorrow. Thx
