Keyboard issues, Sleep mode

Question

Hello everyone!

I have an HP keyboard with shortcut keys on the side.

There is a moon key that puts the computer to sleep when pressed. And sometimes I accidentally press it since it is close to the Escape key!

The computer goes to sleep, and I don't know how to wake it up again.

Here is the list of actions I have taken without success:

I have:

- Moved the mouse
- Pressed keys on the keyboard
- Turned on the screen, but it says "Input DIV: No signal," and it writes "sleep mode."

To wake it up, I had to press the tower, completely turn it off with the button, and unplug the power strip for a while. And then it finally turns back on!

What should I do? How can I wake it up after pressing the moon key? How can I exit sleep mode?

Hello, So you press the Moon button once and wait Or you press the Power button on your CPU quickly once.  Bye -- If there is no solution, then there is no problem...

I think you just need to press the power button on your PC. It's a hibernation mode (at least on my keyboard, which is a Logitech) -- Windows is good. Except when it doesn't work.

Ha thank you, the computer seems to be shutting down, the way to press on the moon doesn't work, I pressed the button on the tower once and it works ^^ Thank you for solving my problem so quickly (I posted on several info forums and you replied first ^^ )

Hi!  I'm having the same problem but restarting the computer doesn't change anything... what to do? On some forums, they mention "resetting" the BIOS, but how to do that without a screen???   Thanks

Well, it's done!!! Problem solved.

So, let me summarize for those in trouble in the future...

I have a COMPAQ SR5110FR Desktop PC - Windows Vista Home Premium
My problem is that as soon as I press the Sleep button (the little stupid moon at the top left...), the computer goes to sleep but there's no way to regain control afterwards... It stays in sleep mode forever. (And not turned off!! That would be too good because at least we could turn it back on)
In short, to summarize, something gets written in the BIOS and there... no way to turn off the PC, restart or stop the sleep mode. The screen stays black no matter what we do.
No way to access the BIOS to change anything... the screen is black... nothing.

I then opened my PC, looked at the motherboard, and found the little lithium battery that powers it when the PC is off to keep the BIOS settings. I thought that by disconnecting it for a second, the BIOS memory would be erased... A sort of reset, but not through the interface.
I took it out and put it back on the motherboard. I reconnected it. It works. BIOS reset and screen is back.

Of course, after this mishap, I quickly disabled the stupid sleep button...

Control Panel --> Personalization --> Screen saver

Click on "Change power settings"

Then: "Choose what the power buttons do"

For the little crappy moon (When I press the sleep button), choose: DO NOTHING!!!

Don't forget to click on "Save changes" before exiting.

There you go! Hoping this helps others out of trouble...

Hello,
I had the same problem with the moon key.
The computer could restart but without the screen.
The screen didn't come back after unplugging and plugging it back in.
However, he checked the VGA port by unplugging and replugging the power cord on the screen, and it worked.
I will disable that key too.
