Hi, I'm 12 years old and I'd like to get into the horror genre, but I don't know what to watch, and I was wondering if Scream is suitable for 12-year-olds.
I'm a fan of series with a good plot, like Thirteen Reasons Why and stuff like that.
Then I started watching "American Horror Story"; it's surprising but nothing too much, although the second season is pretty creepy (in the asylum).
So, am I legally allowed to watch it, and is it a good starting point without being something super gory like Saw or scary like "The Exorcist"?

Hello,
You should know that nowadays we can't even say which films are suitable for which age; films that are rather romantic or even more erotic in cinemas are allowed for those over 16, while some horror films are restricted to those over 18... I've watched all the Screams; I had already seen them at your age. Aside from 2-3 scenes per film that might freak you out if you watch them alone late at night, in my opinion, it's not that scary... You can try; if it's too much, you can always turn it off. For your age, be aware that films released in cinemas usually have a higher age limit than those shown on TV... for example, when Scream was released, those under 16 didn't have access, while on TV the rating showed -12. It depends.

Finally, I watched it and I really liked just the beginning with the chair, but it was cool.

It's because he was reassessed in the meantime, it has nothing to do with television.
