Connect your PC to the TV without a computer monitor

Hello everyone,

I bought a PC tower so I can connect it to my TV.

Do I have to buy a computer monitor to be able to make the settings and then use it on the TV, or can I do it without one?

If I must have a monitor, do I only need it for the initial setup and then the PC connects directly to the TV, or must the computer monitor always be plugged in?

Hi Thomas,

No, you can connect your computer directly to your TV without any prior configuration; there should be automatic recognition, you just need to select the input on the television.

Thank you very much for your reply.

However, when connecting the PC to the TV via the HDMI cable, my TV does not recognize it. Do I need to do a special action when turning on the PC? Like Fn + F7 or something else?

In practice, plugging it in and starting the computer is enough; the TV is not involved in recognition, but are you implying that nothing is displayed?

Yes, that's right. When I go to HDM1, I get a message "no signal detected". Since this is my first use of the PC, maybe I need to press certain keys on the keyboard while turning on the PC for the TV to recognize it?
