How to permanently remove PC Cleaner

Solved

Hello, over a week ago I downloaded a software called "pc cleaner" to protect myself from viruses, etc. But eventually I preferred to equip myself with a more reliable paid antivirus; Kaspersky Secure. So I install it without any issues, but when I download Kaspersky, from time to time when I use my PC I receive messages from the old software; pc cleaner. These messages spam me and even if they come in on average once an hour, it annoys me so I put it in the trash and delete it but the alerts come back along with the software. Since then I've understood that it was malware, but I would like to know how to get rid of it. Thank you in advance.

Hello,

Pc cleaner is certainly not malware.

To permanently uninstall the software, type "programs and features" in the Windows search bar, find the software, and uninstall it.

You have only removed the software installer; it's normal that you still receive alerts.

Best regards.

Hello, thank you very much for your help. I thought that PC Cleaner was malware because it blocked my PC.

I always deleted the application, but actually, you had to click on the PC Cleaner folder and click on uninstall
the application is now good

Hello,

Here are the steps of the procedure to follow:

1°)
Follow the AdwCleaner tutorial by Xplode
  • Download it to your Desktop or in your downloads folder,
  • Run "AdwCleaner" and then click on [Scan],
  • The scan will take several minutes, please be patient,
  • Once the scan is complete, do not uncheck anything, click on [Clean],
  • Once the cleaning is finished, a report will open,
  • Copy/paste the content of the report into your next response.

If copy/paste doesn’t work, use the site http://pjjoint.malekal.com/ to host your report, provide the link to the report in a new message.

Note: The report is also saved under C:\AdwCleaner[S1].txt

2°) FRST
Follow the FRST tutorial. (take the time to read carefully - everything is well explained).

Download and run the FRST scan, 3 FRST reports will be generated:
  • FRST.txt
  • Shortcut.txt
  • Additional.txt

Send these 3 reports to the site http://pjjoint.malekal.com/ and then provide the 3 pjjoint links leading to the reports here in a new response so that we can review them.

You should provide the FRST reports so I can tell you if you have any active adwares or other parasites.
