Access denied - insufficient privileges for CHKDSK in cmd

Hello,
Having a PB E/O with my external hard drive, I wanted to see if it was possible via DOS commands to perform a check disk on my external hard drive.

I can easily execute simple commands: cd ...
but I am not allowed to do more.

How can I do it?

    Hello,

    did you do: right click: run as administrator on cmd?
