Hello. I'm reaching out to you because I have a big problem, and after multiple searches on the internet and forums, nothing has been able to solve my issue. Let me explain:
I recently moved out of my apartment to live with my girlfriend. She had a TV that worked perfectly (connected to a wall antenna socket with built-in DTT, no decoder, nothing). However, since my TV is better, we decided to part with hers and keep mine.
My TV is a Samsung (Samsung UE32EH4000 with built-in DTT as well). In my old apartment, it was also simply connected to an "antenna socket" and I received the 25 standard channels (from 1 to 25).
I set up the connections at her place as they were in mine (i.e., the power cord and the antenna socket and nothing else). I initiated a search for digital and analog channels, and to my surprise: NO CHANNELS FOUND. After several attempts (unplugging and replugging the antenna cable), the result remains the same. I would like to know why? Her TV found the channels perfectly, mine finds absolutely nothing. This is quite frustrating, especially since we shouldn't need a decoder, as my TV has DTT and therefore the decoder is built-in.
I would like to point out that we live in a residence with 6 tenants with a rooftop antenna serving the 6 apartments (although I don't think that has anything to do with it, since her TV worked correctly).
Thank you for reading, and thank you in advance for your responses. Best regards.

The problem doesn't come from there, I am sure of it now.
Let me explain, I 'twisted' the antenna cable connector that connects to the TV. I completely disassembled and reassembled it, being careful not to let the "wires" touch the copper core. And miraculously, after a channel scan, the TV found 5 channels. It's not great, but it's something, proving to me in the process that what isn't working properly in this whole situation is the antenna cable. All that's left for me to do now is to buy a new one.
I would like to thank you very much for responding to me so quickly and clearly. You can mark this topic as resolved. Best wishes and thanks again. Sincerely

A quality cable? What do you mean? Is there a real difference between a budget antenna cable and a high-end one?
I know that for HDMI cables there is (better connectivity because high-end cables are gold-plated, gold being a better conductor), but I didn't think that applied to antenna cables...
But if it's only one meter, it doesn't matter... take the shortest possible one.
You say:
"I 'twisted' the antenna cable plug that connects to the TV."
So try to completely redo everything by cutting the cable; this way you will have a "new" copper core without any oxidation and do the same on the wall socket side, you never know...
There is about 2 meters between the wall socket and the television. So if I understood correctly, for such a short distance, it doesn't matter what cable is purchased, because over 2 meters there won't be as much loss in decibels as over 100 meters?
I would really like to redo everything since it seems to be within my reach (little knowledge of DIY), but the move is not quite finished, and all my tools are still in my old apartment. And I'm not too keen on stripping a wire with a kitchen knife...
I have a question, by the way, what are the "hairs" on the antenna socket for?
