Thomson 40FF9234 TV Issue from 2009
Solved
Hello,
Here is my problem: I just got a Thomson 40FF9234 101 cm flat-screen television. When I plugged it in for the first time, it turned on and then turned off, so I disassembled the power board and replaced 3 bulging capacitors. Now the television works, but since I didn't have a remote control, I bought a universal Grundig RC 7-2 remote. I managed to find the code for the remote, which wasn't difficult since it was the manufacturing date of the TV, 2009. However, the problem I have is that when I try to use the remote, the TV indicator blinks correctly to show that the remote works, but the television doesn't turn off, and there's no click, so I have to turn it off with the TV button. The same goes for the other buttons on the remote; even when I want to change the channel, the indicator blinks, but the channel doesn't change.
Is there another capacitor that needs to be replaced, or is it another problem?
Thank you for your help.

Hello,
Your TV receives the infrared signal and blinks, but it could be that the code is not the right one.

Good evening Andy31200, yet when I enter the codes that go with the universal remote, none of them make the TV's LED blink. So, I did an automatic search and the remote doesn't find anything either. However, when I enter the manufacturing date of the TV, which is 2009, the TV light blinks with all the buttons I press but does not turn off the TV and does not change any channels either.

The problem was indeed with the code of the universal remote control Grundig RC 7-2, which was not the right one; the code was 0746.

Now I can change the channels and turn the television on and off with the remote control.
