Micromania Rebuy

Hello,

I would like to know how much Micromania will give me for my Xbox One, considering that I have a Kinect, an extra controller (so 2 controllers), and 15 Xbox One games. I would like to know how much they will give me for it or if they can exchange it for a PS4 Slim 500GB.

Thank you.

Hi,
like every second-hand store, they will buy it back if they can sell it.
If they already have Xbox Ones, you will have to wait until they have sold their remaining stock.
For the buyback price, it’s about (approximately but it can vary depending on certain factors) roughly a third of the resale price. So if they sell a second-hand Xbox for €99, they will buy it back for €33.
Some stores (Micromania, being not really focused on second-hand items as it is a large chain, prefer small entrepreneurs^^ if there are any left near you) may increase this amount if you don’t cash out but accept a store credit (often exclusively for second-hand items, so they won't lose anything).

So it's quite ridiculous as a buyback price. Prefer a friend or acquaintance to whom you sell it for about the price of Micromania, they will get a good deal compared to market price and you avoid an intermediary so you can earn a bit more (or just do a favor for someone ^^).
Uh, Xbox One versus PS4... there is almost €100 difference in new price, so it's not a second-hand gadget (market value close to 0) that is worth the same.
Moreover, this can depend on the store or even the seller regarding the price, but they are professionals in commerce, so don’t expect to get an advantageous buyback price.

The periods after the holidays are also not ideal for resale, as the market is saturated with "gifts" that weren't liked and sold at low prices.
But if it’s to sell second-hand items, you have much better options than Micromania, on certain websites, for example, consignment shops... of course depending on supply and demand, so comparing equivalent sales to set a price helps the item sell.

PS: I don’t know much about commerce, just about video games, so I don’t go to Micromania which aims to sell the latest profitable releases... their second-hand sections rarely have games/consoles from less than 2 generations... Their second-hand section is there to attract customers by offering a few attractive prices (but without competing with new prices, so limited to the same 'blockbuster' games that everyone has bought and resold, as well as poor and rather mediocre games).
