Problem after adding RAM

Hello,
I received today my two Crucial Ballistix DDR3 4GB RAM sticks and when I add them to the two already installed and identical in every respect (timings, voltage, frequency, etc.) my PC reboots in a loop. No beep, no BIOS. I tested all slot and RAM combinations and it turns out that the 4 sticks work, the 4 ports also work.
So after testing the PC starts with 1, 2 and 3 sticks but not with 4. No matter the slots or sticks. My BIOS automatically handles the RAM voltage.

I’m completely stuck now. A CCMOS didn’t help, BIOS update neither. Everything is properly connected. Everything is perfectly cleaned. My socket has no bent pins.

Anybody have an idea?

Configuration: Intel I5 4550, GTX 660, MSI Z77A G45, SANDISK 240GB SSD, Seagate Barracuda 1TB HDD, BE QUIET! 550W PSU

Well then, now it works.

I was furious, I gave a big punch to my tower (it's bent), it turned off, restarted twice and now I have a proper 16GB of RAM...

WTF.
Anyway, thanks for your help, I’m marking it solved :).

(Rough, but it’s good!)

Sometimes, you can't make sense of it.

Hello,

Do you mount them on the MSI Z77A-G45?

Specifications:
Number of connectors: 4
Supported frequencies: PC21300/PC19200/17000/16000/15000/12800/10600
Maximum capacity: 32 GB
Multi-channel management: dual-channel

If that’s correct, we’re already good at this level.
Have you tried each pair without any particular problem?
(To rule out an issue with the new sticks)

Have you tried just 2 sticks on the 2 unused slots so far?

I’m bad at French, but I own it!

Hello,
Yes indeed it is the right motherboard.
Here is the reference for my RAM: https://www.materiel.net/produit/201601150201.html
They are exactly the same as the two I had (I tried to upgrade from 8GB to 16GB) and I’m sure of it because I built my PC myself and I ordered the same reference three years ago on the same site. In terms of compatibility it seems it can’t be better.

Then to answer your question, yes I tried each RAM module individually on each slot, then each pair on the blue slots, then the black slots, I even tried an old one and a new one in dual channel.

The issue is that all 4 slots are functional, all 4 sticks too, but the PC only boots with 3 sticks regardless of their position and refuses to boot with 4 sticks (it restarts in a loop, black screen, no BIOS, only the PC LEDs turn on and the fans spin).

Now I don’t know what to do. Did I mess up somewhere? Shouldn’t I have used 4 identical sticks?
I figured that with these two new sticks it would run in dual channel.

Small test "con":

Try disconnecting the CD reader and the HDD/SSD, and try to boot with your 4 RAM sticks.

You never know if your power supply is too weak to feed the 4.

Tried already, without graphics card, without HDD, without CD drive. Only the power supply, the SSD, the 4 RAM sticks, the CPU and the fan, and it does the same thing. If I add the RAM stick "hot-swapped" the screen goes black and I have to cut the power... Any other ideas?
