Hello,
I have a television equipped with a "Digital Audio Output."
I plan to buy a soundbar with SPDIF (TOSLINK) connectivity.
However, the output on the TV appears to be square, while the SPDIF TOSLINK cable (which I have not yet purchased) seems to have plugs with a "knob" that is supposed to fit into a central hole in the TV's output according to the diagrams.
But the TV's output is square and does not have a central hole. Is there a protection or some kind of cover to remove to connect the cable?
Thank you for any information.
Best regards, and happy winter.

Good evening,
To be able to guide you...
It would be good to know the references (Brand and model) of these two devices: Television and Soundbar

Very difficult to catch a black cat in a dark room.
Especially when it isn't there...
Thank you to Baladur13,
I went to FNAC.
A salesman showed me: the questioned socket seems square, but it opens up when you insert the optical cord plug.
Well, I didn't do it, but that's where I stand now.
(for your information: my television is a Sharp LC-46D65E.
Not young but with the questioned socket among other things)
The television the FNAC salesman showed me the socket on is of another brand, but the socket is the same.
Winter has just started, and the days are beginning to lengthen. Soon we will be able to spot a TV even when it is off in a room during the daytime. Strength to all the TV and information enthusiasts: spring is coming soon.
Best regards to everyone,
Orph
