Lost phone in the woods

Hello,

My phone fell out of my pocket in the forest. I know the area (not that big compared to the forest, by the way) where it fell, but even after an hour of searching, it must be under some leaves... I should mention that it was on silent (28% battery and it lasts)! I would like to go back to search for it, but is it possible to either geolocate it or remotely turn the sound up to maximum volume?

Thank you in advance!

Configuration: Windows 8 / Chrome 54.0.2840.99

      Good evening Mikaelac,

I looked at this post, but it's a Samsung phone running Bada... And there isn't really a solution for that (I think).

      Thanks anyway for your help!

You need to read quickly... but as my friend told you, saying mobile is like saying my TV... the solutions are for most brands, Android phones, iPhones, Blackberries, etc. I have a Samsung running Android and I can locate and make my phone ring even in silent mode with Android Device Manager and even pinpoint it to within a meter or two... with GPS active for better localization...

So, after I found out, it's a Samsung Wave 2... the GPS was inactive!

you have your answer for bada...if you are registered on the Samsung website..because it can still at least ring since you say you have a rough idea of where it is but it's not easy...if nothing is active...

Yes, unfortunately the problem is that it's a family member who gave it to me and they can't remember the credentials or the original name of the person who has the Samsung account...

    Hi,

Locating it without knowing which phone it is... impossible to say.

Moreover, since the location is very "limited" in a "remote" area dense with trees, the GPS signal may not come through and the phone would need to be connected to the internet.

As for making it ring remotely... same here. If it's an Android device, the Android Device Manager allows you to make the phone ring remotely to help you find it provided it is connected to the internet AND turned on.

      Good evening Judge_DT,

So yes, my phone is on but it’s just not connected to the internet (even though it can receive 3G).. It’s a Samsung, at least I asked my mobile operator (Leclerc) if I could get my number back but I don’t think that’s possible. Regarding geolocation, I was told about Gmail but it’s not on Android so I just gave up :/.. Thank you for your response!

If it's not running Android, it might indeed be a problem.

Likewise, if it's not connected to the internet and doesn't have GPS activated.

In this case, if it's not running Android, it must be a Lumia or an iPhone?

Or not a smartphone at all, and then... it's dead.

No, but I think it's still a smartphone. There was a Wi-Fi and internet connection.. Is it possible, in your opinion, to still put it on loud because the area where I lost it is quite small?

My old "Nokia," which wasn't a smartphone, also had WiFi and "internet" on 3G...

Of course, it's possible to take it out of "silent mode"... if you find it and do so afterward.

Otherwise, I have no idea, since we still don't know which phone it is :-)

Edit: So, after doing some research, it turns out it's a Samsung Wave 2... the GPS was inactive!

That being said, with that... It's not a smartphone and has no "GPS" function like a smartphone, so you'll just have to redo your route with a watchful eye... no miracles.

Haha, I love humor! At worst, I tell myself that it's just material and that we live in a consumerist society, so in the end, that's a good thing, but well...

Thank you for your help anyway!
