Question

Hello,  Since the installation of WINDOWS 10 instead of the pre-installed WINDOWS 8 on my TOSHIBA SATELLITE P850-31T laptop, the DVD-CD-ROM drive "MATSHITA BD-MLT UJ260B" is no longer visible in My Computer, although I can hear it spinning. In the Device Manager, it shows:  "Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged (Code 19)" Moreover, I have verified that the driver is up to date.  Could you please let me know if I should uninstall the driver and then reinstall it, and with which Driver? Michel

Hello, Maybe delete the Upper and Lower filters? Download this -->> Remove Filters.inf <<-- and place it on the desktop. Right-click on the file Choose --> Install Restart the pc. -- Human beings are at their best when things are at their worst.

Hello, I downloaded "suppression filters.inf" which opens in a notepad page so I can't put it on the desktop. Thank you for letting me know if there is an issue with this file Michel

You must not open it! You need to download it and save it on the desktop or in your documents.  Right click on the file Choose --> Install Restart the PC.  Human beings are at their best when things are at their worst.

Shut down the PC Unplug the PC from the wall socket Remove the battery Press and hold the on/off button for about 20 seconds Reinsert the battery Plug the PC back into the wall socket Turn on the PC.  -- Human beings are at their best when things are at their worst.

Good evening, I followed the instructions above (removal of the battery...) upon restarting, the DVD drive still does not appear in My Computer. Thank you in advance for another solution.

Go to Device Manager Expand the menu --> DVD/CD-ROM drives Right-click on the DVD-CD-ROM Uninstall.  Click on Action Scan for hardware changes.  -- The human being is at its best when things are at their worst.
