Hello,
I have a recent HP DeskJet 2130 printer that has worked perfectly recently on a Dell PC running Win XP SP3
The same printer installed on a Dell PC with the same version of Windows does not print
The scanner works
The normal cycle of monitoring the printing takes place, with, notably, the printer queue filling up and emptying, but nothing prints
In a particular configuration, I managed to print a test page
Can someone help me? Thanks
Configuration: OS=WinXPSP2(*)+MRT.exe (Most Up-to-Date Version Possible)
Browser= Opera preferred - Firefox if needed
(*) SP3 As soon as I understand what it is for; for now, installing a recent HP printer is impossible as a fallback
Do not wish to change OS under ANY circumstances and for NO reason

Hello,
install this driver:
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/COL60948/al-146800-2/DJ2130_61.exe
the printer should not be connected, you connect it to the PC when the program asks you to.
best regards

Dear Aunt Elise,
First of all, as many people have probably already told you, it's a pleasure to read and write to you.
Thank you for the interest you have shown in my little problem.
Of course, I have installed the resource you mentioned (in its "basic" version), downloaded from the HP website (support) on 4 different PCs at that time (a Dell GX270, an IBM ThinkPad X40, a Dell Optiplex 755 SFF, and a Dell GX60).
These 4 PCs are set up with Windows XP SP2 upgraded to SP3 (with the well-known resource of approximately 320 MB) almost identically, although there are some nuances – the version of Win SP2 on the Dell Optiplex 755 is not strictly the same as the one installed on the other 3 machines.
All 4 machines are equipped with Framework 3.5, which was quite laboriously installed, by the way.
Currently, on 3 out of 4 machines, after quite a few hiccups (spanning over 2 months), the scanner and printer are functioning.
On the Dell GX60, although the scanner works, it is impossible to get a printout for incomprehensible reasons despite several attempts to uninstall and reinstall the mentioned driver resource, with the recommended USB connection only made at the end of the driver installation.
Everything seems to be happening as if the "soft" aspect of printing is running normally while the "hard" aspect does not execute.
Could it be??- that the machine isn't fast enough, making it difficult for the PC to manage the printer? But this contradicts the correct functioning of the scanner.
- that my installation of Win XP SP2 on the Dell GX60 is incorrect, but it's strange because the SP3 update installed correctly on all machines.
Without further assistance, I am resigned to start everything from scratch, meaning reinstalling Windows with all the expected troubles and discoveries that come with it.
I will let you know in a few days.
Best regards.
