Hello,
I just unpacked my Canon Pixma MG4250 printer. After completing the first steps (removing adhesive and plastic safety), a message 1890 appears on the screen indicating that there is still some adhesive somewhere.
I'm stuck in my installation. I can't access the language selection.
Help!
Thank you,
Jacobin86

Hello,
Apparently, a plastic film has remained in place on an ink cartridge
See:

Hello baladur13,
I've looked to the right and to the left.
There is no plastic film left on a cartridge or anywhere else.
Maybe I will indeed request the warranty.
Jacobin86-
The plastic film on the cartridges is positioned underneath the latter
See § 4 below

Well, the machine is powered on... Okay!
The part that holds the buttons... oh dear. For now, the only parts I can
"articulate" are the scanner cover and the front of the printer, plus the screen that lifts up.
I don't see anything else to manipulate... could there be something I've missed?
(the buttons are on a part that seems fixed and immovable on the printer);
to be continued...?
thank you,

OK... Can you see the inside of the machine on the left side as shown in the image below
.
If I understand correctly, it's the cover that hides the ink cartridge holders (right side) that is not opening.
Are the cartridge holders visible on the left side?
If so, try to push them (without forcing) to the right.
Very difficult to catch a black cat in a dark room.

Hello,
Thank you for your advice, baladur13.
I gently brought the "supports" cartridges to the right. The change it seems to have produced is that at the moment of powering on, instead of directly getting the error message 1890 on the screen, I briefly see the language selection display for barely 2 seconds. Unfortunately, it automatically skips this without me being able to validate anything, going straight to the error message.
So, I installed the cartridges. No more results.
If you have any other ideas, don’t hesitate. I've sent a SOS to Canon.
Thanks,
Jacobin86-
I subsequently installed the cartridges
So they weren't already in place?
It is abnormal that the cartridge carriage does not position itself automatically in the correct place.
Once the machine is open as if you were changing or installing the cartridges, unplug the power cord.
Gently move the carriage with your hand to the left and check (especially on the right side) that nothing is interfering with it, preventing or delaying its movement.
In particular, has the plastic protection located under the cartridges (right side) mentioned in §3 of the manual below been removed?
