IPhone "for parts"...?

Hello,

What does it mean when selling an iPhone "for parts"? Someone is selling an iPhone on leboncoin and I don't know what that means. I sent them a text message to the number displayed but they haven't replied..

"For parts" in an ad usually means that the item does not work, but that spare parts can be recovered...

Hello,

“For parts” means in my opinion that the smartphone is in bad condition and that the owner is selling it to possibly recover parts that might work after all.. But for an iPhone, unless you're a professional, I don't see what can be salvaged.
