Glitched playback of all tapes

Hello,
I own a Samsung Digital Cam VP D10 camcorder, the cassette playback is jerky, it skips every 2 seconds (video + audio). The problem occurs when I play the video on the camcorder but also on the TV. Do you know if the issue comes from the tapes themselves, which are somewhat old (the most recent date from 2010 isn’t that old...) or from the camcorder’s read heads?
Has anyone had this problem and knows how to fix it ??
Thank you in advance
Best regards

Elodie

Hello, these little things aren’t exactly young anymore; they’re fragile.
Please at least try to assemble your cassette to see if finalizing in MPEG-2 causes the problem.

Thank you, I’ll give it a try.
What worries me is that last time I watched the tapes, there didn’t seem to be any issue... Do you think cleaning the camcorder’s playback head might be necessary?

It is certain that there are tapes more resistant to the tape’s transport. Cleaning the read head is always recommended, but I cannot guarantee the result. Good luck.

I just tried to finish a part of the film and the jerks are still present.
Thank you for your reply; I will try to take the camcorder to a professional.
        Have a good evening
