Anonymous SMS harassment

Hello,
I have been separated from my partner since the end of March 2016 following an anonymous text message denunciation for adultery. Apparently, these messages are sent from a platform on the internet; we cannot reply to them or identify the number since it is a 5-digit number like the advertising messages we all receive. Since then, my ex-partner has been receiving very regular anonymous texts containing defamatory and insulting statements about me, giving details (both true and false) about my current life. These texts are ruining our lives, preventing us from rebuilding our lives separately and also from rebuilding our "together" relationship since we have children together and want to stay in touch for their sake. My ex-partner went to the gendarmerie, but the officers told him that they neither had the time nor the resources to conduct an investigation to find out who is behind all this.
I need help/advice to make this situation stop, to have this person unmasked or even punished for the harm caused.
Thank you in advance.

    Hello

On one hand, take screenshots (or save all these messages) and then send a letter (registered with acknowledgment of receipt) to the public prosecutor so that the complaint is taken into account....

On the other hand, the "best" thing would be to change phone numbers (both).

    See you
