Uninstall everything related to printers with --> Revo Uninstaller
Follow the tutorial carefully.

Restart the PC
Go to the control panel
Devices and printers
Check what printers are present.

I have nothing regarding my printer in Revo (I was never able to install its CD software which is not compatible with Windows 8). Anyway, I have never connected any printer other than my Lexmark.

Go to the Control Panel
Devices and Printers
Remove the 2 printers

Go to the Device Manager
Right-click on the 2 root USB hubs
Uninstall them.

Leave the printer connected to the PC
Restart the PC.

Hello,

It’s done. After having to redo the entire process to set it as default, I finally have only one printer displayed, correctly set as default in "Devices and Printers" as well as in Regedit. Everything is fine on that front. Phew!*

However, despite that and the fact that the Spooler and lxce_device are both enabled, I still cannot print anything. This time I don’t have an error window; it seems to send the info, but nothing happens afterward. For example, in "Devices and Printers" when I request to print a test page, a window indicates that it has sent the print job to my printer, but nothing happens. In Word, I see the little green bar at the bottom for just one or two seconds, but then nothing happens (though I’m correctly selecting my Lexmark / by the way, I noticed that Word marks it as "Status: Inactive" even though it’s properly connected and powered on… Is that normal?). Similarly in Photofiltre, the software sends the info, but nothing happens with the printer...

I should specify that no files are listed as "Waiting for Print".
I also note that when I right-click / Troubleshoot on the printer, no problems are detected.
Additionally, it no longer complains about any potential driver issues (I no longer see the infamous "Driver unavailable" that I had before).

I meant to say "It seems to be sending the info well" (with "it" referring to the PC).

By mistake, did you delete some keys in the registry?

I haven't touched anything other than the two mentioned in the link I shared in my very first message, which naturally came back on startup as expected. I don't know anything about the rest, so I won't touch it.

Run an sfc:
Windows + X
Command Prompt (admin)
Type --> sfc /scannow and press enter.

Here's what it indicated to me at the end:
"Windows Resource Protection found corrupted files but was unable to fix some of them. Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log."
I then did it in safe mode, and the same result.

Repair Windows without data loss.
Check this out --> Repair Windows 8

Won't this risk uninstalling all my programs? I would like to avoid that, if possible.

I'm back with an update: the problem is fixed!
How? No idea! All I did yesterday was a couple of Windows updates... I don't know if that has anything to do with it or not.
Thank you very much for your help in any case! :)
