PSP black screen

Question

Hello, my name is Noémie and I am 15 years old. I've had my PSP for almost a year and yesterday I had a slight problem =s!
A friend started a game update to version 2.5 (I have no idea what that is), so I wanted to cancel this update and foolishly removed the battery from my PSP.
Then I tried to turn it back on, but the screen stays black; only the green LED lights up and goes off after a few seconds.
Moreover, my PSP is out of warranty!
Please help me fix my baby!! I love it so much =)

Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 6.0

same problem but solved
plug your usb into the pc
power+R
recovery
1st line USB enable
come to your pc
format your memory card
download firmware 1.5
unzip it into the memory card
go to run psp/...........eboot
click on it and let it run
then manual restart
and reconfiguration

OR ELSE

1. The psp must be disconnected from the cable and stuff...
2. When everything is off, turn on your psp and hold the "R" button (it is at the top right of the psp)
3. Normally you will have a screen where you will find your initial mistake. This screen is the RECOVERY mode ("this Recovery might be a virus? I, in any case, don't know how or why it would be one?") Now at the end of this recovery, you should normally find the word "EXIT" (which means...)
click on it.
4. Do you still have the black screen? Especially if so, do not turn it off because by pressing the "R" button (for about 3 or 4 seconds) you will see your PSP return to itself with its nice (mine has a blue screen)
5. Be sure to read the next steps. After this, if you have pirated games or videos... Save them to your desktop then format your psp and you just need to connect the PSP to the PC and start your downgrade again, thank you.

Hi Noémi, it's quite poorly started. You should have left the update. Go here, several people have had your problem.
Contact them to see if it has been resolved for them.

I fear something very serious......... your friend didn't downgrade your PSP, did he???? If he did, the only thing to do is to find out or bury your PSP.... you might have bricked it.

Here is my problem... I upgraded my PSP to 3.90 and wanted to customize it and now everything has become black. When I turn it on, it stays black and the recovery menu is inaccessible....

I had the same thing happen to me. I read in the book for my PSP that it said to stay pressed at the top with the power button and press start, and it worked again. Let me know if it works.

We cannot fix this kind of problem. I had the same issue; they told me that a part of the PSP was dead, so they repaired it for 100 euros.

When you find the black screen, restart your PSP by pressing R, it should work.
