Brush tool unavailable

Hello,

I am working from a .dxf file that I opened in Illustrator. Then I saved it as a .ai.
However, the brush tool is not available for this document, the blob brush tool (Shift+B) is available, but the brush tool (B) is not...

When I open a new document, it works correctly...

If anyone has any idea!

      Hello,

      I'm responding to the question to help others.

      The brush or pencil is not available if you are on a hidden or locked layer.

      Just go to the layers panel and you're good to go ;)
