Hello, I downloaded Java yesterday and both Java and Javaw applications won't open. I tried to open a .jar file with both, but without success. Then I directly tried to open the applications by double-clicking on them, but it’s the same result.
When I try to open Java, a console appears but disappears in a split second, unless I triple-click (it stays open, but exits when I press any key).
When I try to open Javaw, absolutely nothing happens, nothing at all.
I tried uninstalling and then reinstalling the software completely, but it does the same thing. I tried running the programs as an administrator, but that doesn't change anything. After that, I opened the Java control panel and ran the problem detection function, and it ended up giving me a message that says “incompatible program.” Can anyone help me please? I haven’t found anything on the internet about my issue.
Thank you very much!

LET IT GO, I just found out how to fix my problem! To do this, go to this site:
http://johann.loefflmann.net/en/software/jarfix/index.html
Then, download Jarfix. Open the executable file you just downloaded. Now, all .jar files will be associated with Java, so they can be opened. I spent hours looking for how to fix my problem, and I finally came across this video:

This is the only solution that worked!!
Thank you Jee Pee for responding to me anyway :)
