Hello,
recently, the sound on my (desktop) PC is "glitching". Literally, or almost: that is to say, from time to time, the sound will be distorted - robotic - as if it were glitching or coming from a low-quality microphone from the 50s, always on certain sounds (frequencies?). I can replay the same audio loop multiple times, the bug will be present but never similar to the previous one.
The problem does not come from my headphones, it is also present at the output of the speakers on my monitors.
This bug appeared immediately after connecting a new internet box... It is very unlikely that the connections are the cause: I have 2 separate accesses (one directly on the motherboard and the other on the casing of my tower) (and they have not been subjected to shocks), and the problem persists.
I have updated Realtek High Audio Definition, with no change.
I downloaded and ran the Intel Processor Diagnostic tool, everything is normal (according to them).
No alerts in the device manager.
I do not have a sound card.
The computer is "only" 1.5 years old.
After numerous restarts, I noticed that this crackling/glitching does not appear immediately but after a few minutes (very, very variable time).
Is it possible that it comes from dust? (a well-hidden one, there are no big dust clumps)
Having installed nothing with the installation of the box (same model as the old one), I wonder if it is a hardware issue rather than software... Which does not reassure me at all.
Configuration: Windows 7 64 bit, Asus MAXIMUS-VII-RANGER motherboard, Intel core i5
